Oath of Citizenship and Ceremony#
Taking the Oath of Citizenship is the final step to becoming a Canadian citizen.
Oath of Citizenship#
Declaration:
Swear or affirm allegiance to the King of Canada.
Promise to observe the laws of Canada.
Fulfill the duties of a Canadian citizen.
Oath Text:
“I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles the Third, King of Canada, His Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen.”

Citizenship Ceremony#
What to Expect:
Welcome speech by a citizenship judge or official.
Taking the Oath of Citizenship.
Receiving your citizenship certificate.
Singing the national anthem.
Preparation:
Bring your notice to appear and identification documents.
Arrive early to allow time for registration.
